Here again…

Am back after what seems like ages..and as usual, I have just been lazy. Just din feel like blogging though I have been doing lots. Been preoccupied with family, both immediate and extended…been busy with work..and also busy enjoying myself. :) We had 2 hotel stays in 2 months and that was great. The first was cos Iz was attending a wedding in Sentosa and we took the opportunity to do a weekend getaway. This time around, we did not stay in the Beaufort cos it was further away and also we reckoned that it was more of a couples place then a family place. So we stayed where the wedding was. And though it ended up well, the check-in and overall service there really sucked. I was really peeved upon checking-in cos realised that they had botched up our reservations. And these days, I really cannot stand bad service so I went down to complain whilst Iz and M stayed in the room. After much noise, we got upgraded to a junior suite…which was great. The initial room was pathetically small and also old-looking. Plus they were still cleaning the carpets when we went to the room and the room had that awful damp smell. It was a good thing I didn’t have to stay in that room cos I would have been real unhappy. I sound really whiney, don’t I? But it is simply cos I wanted everything to be perfect for the weekend getaway. All in all, we had a great weekend there and what was even greater was that cos of the bad service and complaints by the wedding couple, we got part of our monies refunded and also a letter of apology from the hotel.

The next hotel stay just 2 weeks back was cos we had a complimentary voucher from the Feed at Raffles Dining card. So….decided to use it before it expired and went to waste. Though it was just a one night’s stay, we had a relaxing time and the family came over that night too after buffet dinner at the hotel. Vouchers are a great thing….we managed to halve the dinner bill cos of the voucher. And MM and GG had their fill of seafood. I reckon that buffets work better for us now rather than sit-down dinners cos we have 3 very active kids amongst us. Kids who will refuse to stay still and sit through a dinner. So at a buffet they can keep walk to and from the buffet spread and they can also wander around the table. So that wil keep them entertained whilst the adults can eat in peace. Now, it is always a given that Iz will eat first and I will feed M first. Then after Iz is done he can look after M whilst I eat. An arrangement that has worked out fine so far though sometimes M will still want to stick to me. These days, a leisurely non-rushed meal when M is around is a luxury. Most times I have to quickly finish the meal to entertain him unless I have help at hand. But guess that is what parenthood is about…sacrificing self for the good of the little one.

Got lots more to write but guess I better break this entry up otherwise it would be real hard to read. So….adios for now. I will be back. Heheh…dosen’t that sound familiar?!?!?
